Jobs

Jobs, also known as Professions, are a crucial aspect of the 4th Version of Athena Adventure. Upon initial connection, each player will be asked to choose up to 3 jobs using the /jobs command.

Functionality

When a player performs actions corresponding to one of their jobs, such as breaking stone blocks or mining ore for a Miner, they will gain both job experience and money.

As the player gains job experience, they will level up. Each level gain increases the amount of experience required to reach the next level, as well as the amount of money obtained when the player completes their job tasks.

Note that a player can only “reset” their jobs with the administration’s approval. So when choosing your jobs, please choose carefully.

Having jobs allows players to have a source of income, enabling them, for example, to buy items from other players or specialized shops.

It should be noted that the use of XP farms, Cobblestone generators, or Create machines does not provide money or experience for the relevant jobs.

Farmer

The Farmer is an expert in animals and nature, taming the wild for the benefit of civilization. This role is extremely important in any civilization and is indeed necessary.

Farmer players will need to equip themselves with a hoe, fertilizer, shears, and buckets to collect natural products in order to progress and, perhaps, become a feeder of civilization. While anyone can till the soil, the Farmer will have an easier time cultivating rare and difficult plants.

Miner

The Miner is a professional in rock destruction and the depths. A literal gold seeker, an expert in mining.

Often working in collaboration with Blacksmiths. Miner players, while not the only ones to exploit the depths, are paid to do so and are drastically more efficient quickly. Mining ores allows them sometimes to obtain rarer or even unique ores…

Lumberjack

The Lumberjack is a guardian of nature. A cutter of burning wood to warm the people but also one who maintains the flora and, by consequence, the wildlife.

The Lumberjack is very important for everyone but especially for Builders. While anyone can fell a tree, lumberjacks are experts in this field. No matter the wood required, the lumberjacks will find it.

Digger

The Digger, despite its simple, sometimes thankless role, is necessary for facilitating the leveling of soils, terraforming, and the recovery of clay and sand.

Although not seeming rewarding and not well paid at first glance. The digger is a valued element of builders and miners when they come across collapsed sites. They can also easily be real archaeologists.

Fisherman

The Fisherman, a job simple in appearance, a passion for others. Friend of the waters, the Fisherman is less necessary than the Farmer but his ability to discover forgotten treasures is only matched by the quantity of fish taken from the sea and rivers.

While all can fish, the fisherman is relatively well paid to feed both humans and his companions. Fishermen often discover small treasures or gigantic secrets, deep in the abyss…

Hunter

The Hunter, a true guardian of the villages. Protector against things lurking in the darkness. A risky but profitable occupation.

A true adventurer, the hunter protects and attacks anything that threatens his living environment. He is necessary in many projects and a powerful ally. Often favored by Blacksmiths in exchange for rare pieces found on beasts and monsters. Defense is within everyone’s reach, but Hunters are connoisseurs of what they face like no other.

Alchemist

The Alchemist, the apothecary of the occult. Secluded in his laboratory filled with colored vapors. He concocts strange colored mixtures with various tastes and effects.

The Alchemist can strengthen and harm through his creations. A regular ally of almost everyone but especially Hunters. The Alchemist creates rare potions with various effects as a means of livelihood and his exchanges with Hunters are often fruitful. Some monster pieces here and some potions there.

Blacksmith

The Blacksmith, wielder of the forge hammer. In contact with glowing coals and molten metals. He meticulously manufactures weapons, armor, and tools for all who can afford his services.

A weighty ally for all but especially for Miners and Adventurers. While all can create weapons, tools, and armor, blacksmiths are well paid to do so in addition to sometimes obtaining special blueprints…

Builder

The Builder, the creator of fortresses, cities, and wonders. He designs plans to allow everyone to enjoy art and the warmth of magnificent homes.

Often working hand in hand with the Digger. The Builder is capable of getting paid for laying worked blocks. Although not having special advantages over others apart from his relatively low earnings for long work. The longer the construction, the higher the finances. In addition to the cost he can charge his employers.

Enchanter

The Enchanter, manipulator of magic to imbue tools, weapons, and armor. A necessity for everyone at the peak of civilizations.

A necessity for everyone, paid to enchant any type of artifacts. Even though everyone can, to a lesser extent, enchant. The one who specializes in it is an expert in the field. Paid dearly for his art, he is also capable of finding certain much rarer and unique enchantments…
