The Holy Cult & Solis

Solis

Solis is the name of the primary deity of the world, associated with light and the solar orb from which it derives its name.

Solis is described as a god of Justice and Law. Stern but just, his wrath is manifested through the eruptions of the Sun. Assisted by Obscura, Solis battled the Empress of the Void before sealing her millions of years ago.

He is depicted as a gigantic figure wielding a shield symbolizing protection against evil and a fiery blade cutting through all evils and sins, separating good from evil.

The Holy Cult

The Holy Cult is the universally given name to the cults of the Solis Church. Possessing an absurd number of rules (symbolic of Solis’ severity) and codes, the Holy Cult is the most widespread religion in the world today. The symbol of the scarlet cross with a heart of light is now more prevalent than ever.

The Holy See

The Holy See is the dominant heart of the Solis religion. The Holy See is located in the Imperial Capital and has ruled there recently, with some power sharing. Many “heretics” have been burned for saying that the Holy See is now more of a money-making machine than a true symbol of Solis. It is the Holy See and its members who choose and designate the “chosen ones” supposed to bring Solis’ peace, as Father Atom was.

Post-Tabula Rasa

After the Tabula Rasa Project, the Holy See slowly lost its grip on the decisions of the capital. The lack of a general explanation about the disappearance and reformation of the region left it without a real clergy. The Holy Cult never sent an official mission there again, and the loss of an entire region was attributed to the assumed ignorance of Obscura’s return there.

Since then, the Holy See has only a few seats on the imperial council.
